Just 80 minutes away from the city you can find an unique place called Guatapé’s Lake, which was created in 1978 when the government closed the gates of the dam and the river Naré turned into this gorgeous place, actually the lake has 22.000 acres of extension and the dam provides 20% of the electricity in the country.
Escape from the city chaos and enjoy our private full day tour in the countryside learning the history of the lake and falling in love with the unique landscapes that you can have while using the 740 steps you climb the rock of Guatapé, and the beautiful streets in Guatapé town, which was elected the most colorful town in Colombia.

In Guatape you can do some optional activities like a boat ride around the lake during 1.5 hours, Jet Ski rental for 30 or 60 minutes, or a zip line ride above the lake. Our drivers will make as many stops as you need assuring that you can get the perfect pictures, buy drinks, or souvenirs.
This tour is available everyday leaving at 8am, 9am, or 10am. Custom departing time is available but we can’t assure you the full experience if we leave too late.

I went to Medellin, Colombia for my birthday this past May. I enjoyed my time in Medellin and that was in large part due to my tour of Guatape with Black Diamond via Nikolai. Nikolai was very detailed when explaining the history of Guatape and the meaning of each statue/structure in the surrounding area. I enjoyed my tour so much, that I am returning to Colombia and will go on additional tours with Black Diamond. Nikolai is a very good guide and gave us opportunities to be flexible during the day.
We did the zip line which was fun and the boat on the waters was great and I got a chance to go fishing.
